Our goal with RR+ is to provide advanced tools on top of the core ResearchRabbit experience. They add a layer of speed and convenience to improve the quality of your research experience:

Why is there a Free and a Paid version?
We're able to offer the Free Tier thanks to the income we receive from subscribers to ResearchRabbit+. Perhaps they subscribe out of heroic goodwill or perhaps they just want the spicy features. Either way, very grateful for their contribution.
