Zotero Integration for ResearchRabbit
Zotero is a popular Reference Manager that can help insert written references and organise your literature for a research paper. You're able to bring the papers you've saved to Zotero into ResearchRabbit through our Zotero Importer.
How to use Zotero with ResearchRabbit
Using Zotero with ResearchRabbit requires a one-time setup process to grant ResearchRabbit permission to access your Zotero collections. After you've done this, you'll be able to use the integration seamlessly.
Linking your Zotero Account
If you haven't used Zotero with ResearchRabbit before, you'll need to link your Zotero account to your ResearchRabbit account.
To open the Zotero authentication screen, you can either click on a "Zotero" button anywhere within ResearchRabbit, or do the following:
Click on your Profile in the top-right
Click on Account Settings
Choose the Preferences Tab
Under the Zotero Libraries heading, choose Link Zotero
This will open the authentication screen in Zotero – you may be prompted to log in.
Once here, click Accept Defaults. Note that modifying the default permissions could result in issues importing your data.
You'll be redirected to ResearchRabbit where we'll complete the handshake. You're now ready to use the Zotero Importer!
Using the Zotero Importer

How to move articles back into Zotero
Just like in the old ResearchRabbit you can bring articles you find in ResearchRabbit back into Zotero using the Export feature – Zotero will happily import the BibTeX file format.
A quick heads up: We're actively working on a two-way sync feature between ResearchRabbit and Zotero that will let you maintain your collections in parallel. Follow our social channels to hear more about when this will be releasing.
Coming from the old ResearchRabbit?
The Zotero Importer is very similar to the previous Zotero import feature, with added flexibility:
The Zotero Importer won't erase articles from your ResearchRabbit Collections
You can import any amount of Zotero articles into ResearchRabbit
You can choose a mix of Collections for these articles to be imported into
Combined with the upcoming Zotero two-way sync feature, we hope this will give a great balance between seamlessness and flexibility.
