Relinking gives ResearchRabbit fresh permission to read your Zotero library. For two-way sync, it also lets ResearchRabbit update it. It’s worth trying if:
The Zotero importer says there’s nothing in your library, but you know there is
Your synced collections have stopped updating
You see an error when you open the Zotero importer
You changed the permissions the first time you linked, instead of clicking Accept Defaults
Relink your Zotero account
1. Click your profile icon in the top right, then Account Settings.
2. Choose the Preferences tab.
3. Under Zotero Libraries, click the trash icon to disconnect ResearchRabbit and Zotero. You will be prompted to Remove the connection.
4. Click Link Zotero to refresh the connection. Zotero opens in a new tab, and you may be asked to log in.
5. When Zotero asks if ResearchRabbit can access your account, click Accept Defaults. Changing these permissions can stop the importer and sync from working.
6. You’ll be redirected back to ResearchRabbit. Open your Library and click the Zotero button, or Zotero Sync if you’re on RR+, to check your collections appear.
Linked again? Here’s what to do next.
Bring in a collection once: Using the Zotero Importer (all plans)
Keep Zotero and ResearchRabbit in step, both ways: How do I sync ResearchRabbit with Zotero? (RR+)
Still not working?
Check which Zotero account you’re using
You can link more than one Zotero account to ResearchRabbit. At the top of the importer window, check the account name matches the Zotero account that holds your papers, and switch it if it doesn’t.
Check your papers are in a collection
The Zotero connector lists your collections. Papers that are only in My Library, without a collection, may not appear. In Zotero, check Unfiled Items, then drag any papers you want to import into a collection and try again.
Contact support
Contact us through the chat in ResearchRabbit, or at support@researchrabbit.ai. It helps if you can send:
