Exploring article risk with Signals indicators

Keep your literature review trustworthy. Learn how Signals indicators help you spot potentially problematic papers before you cite them.

Written by Nathan

ResearchRabbit has partnered with Signals to evaluate articles inside ResearchRabbit+. Signals helps you flag potential concerns about articles before you rely on them in your literature review.

Where do indicators appear?

You’ll see indicators in your existing collections and when you are exploring new literature. So that you can quickly assess papers, Signals alerts and cautions appear on the maps and in list views.

Every article has a Signals badge showing either no risk, caution, alert, or no assessment.

What do the badges mean?

Each badge gives you a quick read on an article's trustworthiness, with the option to dig deeper in Signals if something looks off. You will need a free Signals account.

Muting a badge

If you've manually verified an article and want to clear the warning, you can mute it from the detailed article view. Muted warnings won't appear in article lists, but can still be reviewed in the article details panel.

Muted indicators apply to your settings. If a teammate has muted an indicator in a shared Collection, you will still see the Signals badge.

💡 Not seeing Signals indicators? Indicators are only available on RR+, our premium tier. If you're on the free plan, you'll see a disabled indicator with information about upgrading.
