ResearchRabbit has partnered with Signals to evaluate articles inside ResearchRabbit+. Signals helps you flag potential concerns about articles before you rely on them in your literature review.
Where do indicators appear?
You’ll see indicators in your existing collections and when you are exploring new literature. So that you can quickly assess papers, Signals alerts and cautions appear on the maps and in list views.

Every article has a Signals badge showing either no risk, caution, alert, or no assessment.

What do the badges mean?
Each badge gives you a quick read on an article's trustworthiness, with the option to dig deeper in Signals if something looks off. You will need a free Signals account.
Badge | Status | What it means | What to do |
| No major risks found | This article appears safe to use in your research | Safely reference this article. You can still view the report in Signals |
| Caution | Some risks were found. Review carefully before trusting this article | Check the brief summary shown, then click View Report in Signals to investigate |
Alert | Significant risks were found | Thoroughly investigate before relying on this article. Click View Report in Signals for the full breakdown | |
Unable to check | Signals was not able to assess this article | Limited metadata may be the cause. Verify manually if needed |
How to investigate further
Click the badge to open a detailed popup inside ResearchRabbit+, where you can see the full list of risks identified for that article.
From the popup, click View Report in Signals to open the complete breakdown on the Signals website.
💡 Viewing the full report in Signals requires a free Signals account. Sign up takes just a moment.
Muting a badge
If you've manually verified an article and want to clear the warning, you can mute it from the detailed article view. Muted warnings won't appear in article lists, but can still be reviewed in the article details panel.
Muted indicators apply to your settings. If a teammate has muted an indicator in a shared Collection, you will still see the Signals badge.
💡 Not seeing Signals indicators? Indicators are only available on RR+, our premium tier. If you're on the free plan, you'll see a disabled indicator with information about upgrading.
